  • Grains:
    1.5 lb Crystal 15 L
    0.5 1b Honey Malt

  • Extract:
    9 lbs Ultralight Malt
    1 lb Light DME

  • Additional Ingredients: None

  • Hops:
    1 oz Magnum (at Boil)
    1 handful Cascade (at Boil)
    3 oz Willamette (at B+50)
    3 oz Cascade (at B+59)

  • Yeast: 1 White Labs American Ale

    Fermentation Schedule:
    Brewed and Primary - 07/30/05
    Bottled - 08/17/05


    Label Notes:
    This brew hit the fermenter soon after the release of the 6th Harry Potter book, Half-Blood Prince. I was rereading book 5 at the time so I could fully absorb book 6 when I got around to it. I couldn't think of any clever play on words for a straightfoward pale ale, but I was thinking of how whiny Harry is in book 5, and teen angst is part of puberty...you get the idea. If you are not familiar with the books, the pictures are how Harry appears on the cover of the first 6 books.
