CEDAR SDI_VIEWER

Menu Bar -> File

Open FITS / Raw

The SDI_VIEWER tool can be used to display data stored either in the original RAW format or in a FITS format. If the FITS format is being read, the header information is saved in memory and can be displayed using the Data->Header option of the top menu bar.

The type of data is determined before being read in. If the data is not of the expected format or instrument, an error message will warn the user of the problem and the loading will be aborted.

Images stored in a RAW format (output from SITS), can be loaded in SDI_VIEWER with the OPEN Raw option. The proper information will be extracted from the Raw data format making sure no pieces are missing. In the case of a problem, the user will receive an error message and the loading will be aborted. In the of a Raw format, no header information is available.

PostScript Export

A snap shot of the data currently displayed in the SDI_VIEWER can be saved as a postscript file. The output is formated to fit on a single page. The user has the option to created the postscript file in black and white as it appears on the screen or in reversed black and white or as a color postscript file. This option will not send the postscript file to a printer. This step is platform dependant and is left to the user.

Exit

This option closes the SDI_VIEWER tool. The data stored in the COMMON blocks is set to zero to liberate the memory space the tool uses.
